Ifeyinwa Arinze is a neuroscientist-turned-filmmaker from Nigeria and is currently based in New York City. Her work centers intimate portrayals of Black women and girls that are grounded in tenderness and care. She has received support from organizations like BAFTA, NYFA, NYWIFT, Video Consortium, UnionDocs and Film at Lincoln Center. Her short films have screened at the New York African Film Festival, Aspen Shortsfest, Palm Springs International Shortfest, BlackStar Film Festival, Urbanworld Film Festival, Indie Memphis Film Festival and TIDE Film Festival.


Ifeyinwa is developing her debut feature film SCRUPLES, which was selected for the 2024 Cine Qua Non Script Revision Lab and was a 2023 SFFILM RANIN grant finalist. She is also in post production on her next short film with support from NYU’s Black Family Thesis Prize. Ifeyinwa holds an MFA degree from the NYU Tisch Graduate Film program and is a 2024 Princess Grace Award winner.
